Bill & Lynne Dinner

billlynnthumbThis month we are featuring two dedicated yogis. Bill and Lynne came to Om Sweet Om a little over a year ago between Thanksgiving and Christmas.  They are a healthy loving couple that enjoy traveling and doing many activities together and for the last year that has included practicing yoga at least 4 times a week here at Om Sweet Om. Prior to coming to Om Sweet Om they had previously dabbled in gym yoga.  After seeing our ads, Lynne thought she would like to give a real studio a try and thought it might be more relaxing, spiritual and all encompassing than a gym.

Lynne remembers she signed up first, but it was not long before Bill came on board. Recognizing that they had different needs, Lynne started off with the Gentle, Restorative, Iyengar and Foundation classes.  Bill a self described type “A” is an avid skier, tennis player and biker who jumped right into the Vinyasa classes. Before long they were both on the monthly unlimited auto-renew plan enjoying many classes together and individually.

Both Bill and Lynne began their yogic journey with few expectations. Being intelligent people, they understood the health benefits of exercise – but the results of their year long yoga practice have them both happily surprised and even more committed.

They both say they feel much calmer and focused.  They value and appreciate having a healthy lifestyle. Lynne feels that her practice has removed her worry about many issues and helps her to prioritize her time! Not surprisingly Lynne, a therapist, recommends yoga to many of her clients. Bill says his feet are better and that he no longer needs to wear orthotics. They both feel stronger and more flexible. Lynne recently achieved a headstand and side plank! Bill can now touch his toes!

Their two grown sons find it hard to believe that their parents have found a new passion and are very proud of their efforts!

Most importantly, they both have found a community that they really enjoy at Om Sweet Om Yoga. Lynne says that “we are children of the 60′s and 70′s” and the kind of community we have found at Om Sweet Om is very reminiscent of the best of those times and sentiments.
