Savasana – corpse pose

Lie flat on your back. Let your legs be about a mats distance apart and allow them to flop/relax out to the sides. Arms are alongside the body about a foot away, palms face up. Allowa the shoulder blades to come together gently behind your back and lower away from your ears. Relax every muscle and cell in your body. Surrender all effort. Let go of all holding physically, mentally, and emotionally. Like a corpse let everything go.

Savasana can be considered the most important part of your practice. I know many of you call it your favorite. But for some people savasana is the most challenging posture of all. Becoming completely still and surrendering. Giving it all up for the good.
Physical benefits-This is a time to integrate all of the energetic benefits of the postures. It is a time when the brain waves actually change and enter the Theta state. This is where healing, restoration and rejuvenation occur.
Spiritual benefits- Savasana is a journeying inward. Traveling through the layers of awareness, aka the koshas, towards the bliss body, your divine essence. Savasana leaves you feeling peaceful, balanced and a greater sense of well-being
