Raj

Raj has been practicing yoga for about 22 years using a variety of approaches including Iyengar, Astanga, Sivananda and Biomechanical Yoga.  In the last 15 years have concentrated on yoga as a teacher.  Practice includes asana, pranayama and meditation.
Raj’s training is as follows, she completed Ashtanga yoga training for certification from Omega Institute with Beryl Bender Birch (The Hard & Soft Ashtanga Yoga Institute), 200 hour Yoga Training Course from YTTI (New York), Hatha Yoga Teacher Training Course from Ma Yoga Shakti International Mission.
In addition she participated in these workshops “Assisting Techniques and Meditation”, “Kundalini Yoga & Bandhas”, “Prenatal Yoga” and “Anatomy of Asanas”. Workshops with Dharma Mittra, Swami Bhuva, Mokshapriya Shakti, among others.
Raj is currently teaching classes at Om Sweet Om(Port Washington, NY), She has taught intermediate and advanced Yoga classes at New York Sports Clubs , Equinox and  East Coast Athletic Club.  She also taught beginner and intermediate yoga classes at Parent Resource Center, and Ashtanga Yoga (known as a Power yoga) at Ma Yoga Shakti Center.Raj also participated in photo-book of Yoga postures for Ma Yoga Shakti Center.
