She began studying yoga as a group fitness enthusiast and teacher; she was curious and decided to try a yoga class, which in turn led to attending more and more classes and on to an in-depth study of yoga. Through the guidance of her teachers and her own personal practice, she finds that yoga is not only a physical experience but something deeper and more intellectual; she wanted "to understand this mysterious and marvelous "yoga", which could reveal to us our innermost secrets".
Thus began a lifelong connection to the practice of yoga, and then to the process of training in the Iyengar system and the joy of sharing this knowledge with others. As a teacher, Myra helps her students understand more about their practice with informative demonstrations, clear instructions and keen observation and corrections.
In addition to over twenty years teaching group fitness and yoga, Myra has a B.S.B.A. from Boston University, had a ten year career in the telecommunications industry, and over ten years as an administrator of her family's south shore property management company.
