Restorative

This class is taught by:

Gail Grossman

Gail Grossman, E-RYT 500, founder of Om Sweet Om Yoga, has been sharing the gift of yoga for decades. Her students describe her as a very nurturing teacher who can quietly touch every muscle in their physical and emotional body, which leaves them feeling relaxed, grounded and happy.
Gail’s book Restorative Yoga for Life has been very well received, ranking in the top 1% of Amazon.com book sales. Her audience extends far beyond the established yoga community, reaching many who have never had a yoga practice.
Gail’s offerings include trainings, workshops and retreats for all levels of fitness. Sharing her knowledge of yoga’s life-changing potential truly feeds her soul. She is grateful to all the students she has met on this journey and is equally grateful for all the teachers present and past who have helped to shape her into the teacher she has become.
Ultimately, Gail’s work is informed by her intuitive inner voice, which has guided her at every step on her path.
Though Om Sweet Om is her baby, she is being called to spread her wings a little further. You can visit her personal website at http://www.gailgrossmanyoga.com

Deborah Corsitto

Deborah Corsitto fell deeply in love with the practice of yoga in 2004, following the birth of her third child, and fell deeply in love with teaching yoga in 2009, when enrolled in Om Sweet Om’s 200-hour teacher training program. Since then, Deborah has maintained a consistent, near-daily practice in the Ashtanga yoga tradition while continuing to teach, study and enjoy the benefits of restorative and vinyasa styles of practice.
Deborah is currently pursuing her 500-hour teaching certification with Cora Wen of Yoga Bloom with an emphasis on yoga therapeutics and has recently completed an intensive 40-hour training in the primary series of Ashtanga yoga with yogi master David Swenson.
Deborah offers challenging yet nurturing flow classes, where students are invited to explore perceived limits, both physically and mentally, and safely move past them. Students credit her lighthearted, unpressured approach and gentle encouragement with making her classes fun, empowering and uplifting, steeped in tradition, but sweetened with fun. She is forever grateful to her primary teachers, Lisa Bondy, Gail Grossman and Sara Intonato, and most profoundly thankful for the life, legacy and teachings of her guru, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois.

Yumi Shin-Sedgwick

In 2011, After a major life transition of from being a Private Equity workaholic from Seoul Korea to stay-home mom in New York, Yumi came to yoga as a means of finding balance. Since Yumi embraced yoga, her practice evolved into more than just personal care, but also a passion and love of sharing the magical power of yoga.
Yumi truly believes that yoga is for everyone, from the raw vegan to the BBQ enthusiast. She admits that she is a carnivorous, wine and cheese lover, you won’t hear much Sanskrit in her class, and she will totally forgive you if you don’t know your asana from your elbow.
Yumi gets excited when she meets brand new yogis in her class and loves being a beginner’s first door step into a yoga wonderland. As a perpetual student of yoga, Yumi is eternally grateful that yoga has been a centering force in her life and to her amazing husband for his support with a deep love.
Yumi is certified to teach Vinyasa style yoga, Kids yoga foundation, Yoga for Children with special needs and Restorative yoga. Yumi teaches alignment-based vinyasa yoga and restorative yoga at Om Sweet Om Yoga, Long Island, NY.
For students of all levels; a soothing series of rejuvenating poses.
