Mommy & Me Yoga (Ages 1-3)

This class is taught by:

Michelle Lublin

Michelle Lublin came to her yoga mat several times before the practice really got under her skin. It took several attempts for her to realize this practice had effects on her far greater than she was able to comprehend at the time. She has been teaching children for over 20 years. Her Yoga teacher trainings include the YogaKids Foundations, Next Generation Yoga and Radiant Child Yoga. In 2008, Michelle completed a 200 hour adult teacher training at Om sweet Om Yoga with Gail Grossman and Lisa Bondy her two inspiring teachers. Although Michelle's original focus at Om Sweet Om was with children, she now shares her gift of teaching with adults as well. Michelle's strengths lie in helping people who suffer from stress and anxiety and bringing the gift of yoga to people is a dream come true for Michelle.

Lenora Gim

You have to learn to play before you learn to flow... Lenora Gim teaches yoga to both adults and children through her unique and warm approach to the mat.
An avid yogi who has been practicing consistently for over fifteen years, she completed her 200-hour Yoga Alliance teacher certification at Om Sweet Om in Port Washington.
In addition to her more traditional adult vinyasa training, Lenora received her Foundations Training certification from YogaKids with Gail Grossman.
With a teaching style that's both down to earth and intuitive, she incorporates proper alignment and mind-body awareness into creative and spirited sequences that allow yogis of all ages, shapes and sizes to explore their bodies through the never-ending adventure of yoga both on and off the mat.
She currently teaches classes at Om Sweet Om, The Training Station, Friends Together Nursery, and the Port Washington Children's Center.
Although at times she misses Brooklyn, especially mass transit, Lenora has found a home in Port Washington with Gail and the Om Sweet Om community. She is truly honored to be part of this special sangha.

Rebecca Scaramucci

Rebecca began practicing yoga at Om Sweet Om in 2007. After the passing of her mom, yoga became a great source of healing and positive thinking. With a new appreciation for her practice Rebecca wanted to deepen her knowledge of everything yoga has to offer. She received her Yoga Alliance 200-Hour RYT at Om Sweet Om and her YogaKids Foundations Training certification with Gail Grossman. She can be found teaching adult Open Vinyasa flow, Foundations, and Candlelight yoga. With her children away at school, she is grateful to have the opportunity to lead playful mommy and me classes encouraging a lifetime of health and wellness to the very youngest yogis. Rebecca also works with special interest groups such as senior citizens, girl scouts and athletic teens. Whether working with the very young or just young at heart Rebecca desires to share a sense of peace, love and strength to all her students.

Jen F Schiffer

Jen (E-RYT 200, RCYT, RPYT) first tried yoga in college on her rare days off from cheerleading to stretch and strengthen sore and tired muscles. It wasn’t until a few years after graduation however, that Jen truly learned the transformative powers of the practice when yoga helped her heal after the devastating loss of her mother to a brain tumor. Once Jen took her first yoga teacher training at Karma Kids Yoga in 2005 she knew she was on a special journey. Her love of kids and yoga allowed her to combine her passions and share a special gift with even the youngest yogis. Jen went on to get her certification to teach adults, pre and postnatal yoga, children with special needs, and even seniors. Jen teaches yoga to EVERY body and EVERYBODY – from infants as young as 5 weeks old to adults 105 years ‘young.’ Jen has served as the Group Exercise Director for 34 locations of New York Sports Club and is presently the Director of Business Development at Karma Kids Yoga in NYC where she also serves as a senior teacher training facilitator. She has traveled internationally training adults how to teach yoga to children. She also created the Kids Yoga en Español curriculum as a way for kids yoga teachers to incorporate Spanish into their classes. In spite of her busy schedule, Jen’s true passion is sharing the gift of yoga with her students. She challenges her students to not take themselves too seriously, to step out of their comfort zones and to always try a pose the mind thinks the body can’t do.
